My love of genealogy began over a decade ago as I began searching for my own family. I not only discovered stories from my family's past but I got to know these people who I exist because they existed.
I am going to use this blog as a format to introduce others to the ancestors that I am discovering and getting to know. These are incredible people with incredible stories.
I once heard someone speaking about their son who had passed away. This person was asked why he was so motivated in life to do good and be a better person and he said his motivation came from his son. He said, "The only way to introduce you to my son is to let you see him in me."
My love of genealogy comes from a similar place of wanting to meet the people whose lives molded mine. I can discover their names in archives, I can piece together facts to develop there stories and in so doing, I can find them in myself.
